This train trestle on the trail is just as fabulous as I have imagined it from the highway!
It's rather amusing to think of the river being closed.
However, the tree branch helps "make the point".
The Cedar River - calm and clear
Some folks here and on FaceBook have asked how far I walked on this Cedar River Trail, and have I walked all of it. It's 17 miles long and would take me several days because I am so easily distracted. Once I made it to the other end, I'd probably have to be met by a hearse. That said, my next view will simply be the other side of this trestle looking down at very different water.

The trestle bridge is very interesting, I love old structures like that. I would be the same way hiking the trail, I would get so distracted it would take me days to complete the walk.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, we visited a relative who lived out in the boonies (well, it was the boonies then; now the neighborhood has grown, and grown, and grown). One of our favorite pastimes was to walk to the local bakery, buy hot from the oven bread, walk over to the train tracks, and have a picnic ... just some fresh, churned butter and a sprinkle of sugar on the bread ... oh, yummmm. Thanks for bringing back that memory with your train trestle posts.
ReplyDeleteI would have felt really bad if you had said you walked the entire walk...and in one day. I could probably do that much on my bike if it were downhill. Your photos are so nice.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could walk it with you Cheryl! It's beautiful.
