If you've kept up with me this week, we have had a leisurely stroll of over a mile.
Each trip around the promenade equals half a mile. This waterway also circles the downtown park with water features at the front entrance as well as the back parking lot (top photo).
I made it around twice but was constantly distracted by all the little things I had to explore off the beaten path. The park grounds originally belonged to the school district. The big open meadow in the center of the park is the "footprint" of South Union High School; I think it's a nice way to keep this site's history alive.

I'm doing the 10,000 steps a day challenge at work ... so thanks for the "virtual" steps that came with the 1-mile plus tour :-)
ReplyDeleteIs the path/walkway open to runners or bikers? I can see the ducks like this place a lot!
ReplyDeleteOops...about the "crooked" photo - I assure you I have no idea what you're talking about! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your words of consolation! I'm not taking this well at all! But I'll be OK.
ReplyDeleteI took the tour and enjoyed T.R's quotes. The downtown park is a beautiful place, and the trees are a nice tribute to the WWI veterans.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the journey, Cheryl.
Hugs, Pam
I was in Bellevue a couple of weeks ago, but never made it to this park. Thanks for showing it to me - nice shots.
